JEFFERSONVILLE/SWANTON — Georgeann Carolyn Jacobs, age 68 years, died late Wednesday evening, March 26, 2014, at her Ross Lane residence in Jeffersonville.

Born at home in Swanton on, April 22, 1945, she was the daughter of the late George and Rose (Downie) Lavigne. She was a graduate of the former Swanton High School.

Georgie was employed for many years as a pharmacist assistant beginning at Bayside Pharmacy in Virginia Beach, Va., and later working in Vermont at the Cambridge Pharmacy and Jack Rixon’s Pharmacy in St Albans. She was also associated with both Prouty’s and Blouin’s IGA and North Country Bait and Tackle in Swanton. She was active in the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ladies Auxiliary in Jeffersonville and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Charles DaPrato Post 778, in Swanton.

Georgie will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother always putting her grandchildren first.

She leaves her two daughters and their husbands, Pam and Stan Beauregard of Jeffersonville and Debbie and Kevin LaPan of Swanton; grandchildren, Bobby and Jonny Beauregard of Jeffersonville and Christopher LaPan and his fiancée, Brittany Ploof, and Carolyn LaPan all of Swanton; brothers and sisters, Barbara and Richard Fearn of Gainesville, Fla., Dixie Root of West Swanton, Richard Lavigne of Panama City, Fla., and Danny and Nancy Lavigne of Swanton; her former husband, James George Hill of Homosassa, Fla., as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents Georgie was predeceased by her sisters, Doreen and Evelyn and her brother, Steve.

Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton on Thursday, April 3, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. The evening will conclude at 7 p.m. with a Funeral Service officiated by Father John G. Feltz.
