RICHFORD/KEENE, N.H. — George Edward Mayotte passed away on July 18 at the Westwood Health Center in Keene, N.H. George was born on July 12, 1923 in Morrisville, VT to Wilfred and Rosina Mayotte. He graduated from Richford High School in Richford, in June of 1941.

George will be joining his loving wife, Mary who passed away in 2012. They were married for over sixty-nine years. George is survived by his son James and wife Wendy, his daughter Marianne Miller and husband Marvin, his daughter Gloria Lisella, his son Dennis and his son Charles and his wife Sue.

George joined the U.S. Navy in 1942. He was aboard the second ship, the USS Token to enter Tokyo Bay.

George will be missed by his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and his dog Dusty. George was a proud member of the VFW Post #1034, Brattleboro. He was Commander of the VFW several times and was the Post’s Quartermaster for over thirty years. He was a life member of the American Legion Post #12, Richford, VT and AMVETS Post #18, Enfield C.T.

George was a proud World War 2 veteran and a kind and loving father. There will be a celebration of George’s life on August 17, 2013 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the VFW Post #1034, Brattleboro, VT.

Memorial donations may be made to the Windham County Humane Society, P.O. Box 397, Brattleboro, VT 05302. George will be buried with his wife, Mary at the Sanbornton Cemetery in Sanbornton, N.H.
