SWANTON — Mr. Frederick L. Greeno, age 94, passed away early Friday morning, May 27, 2016, at the Franklin County Rehab Center. He was born in Swanton May 7, 1922, son of the late Leo and Minnie (Russell) Greeno. Fred served his country in WWII in the U.S. Navy. He was a Purple Heart recipient after receiving an Honorable Medical Discharge. Upon returning, he worked for many years for the General Electric Corporation, as a technician in the instrument laboratory. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1, The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a former member of the Swanton Planning Commission and the Missisquoi Valley Rescue Squad.
Fred married Lucille Bouchard on June 8, 1943, and Lucille predeceased him March 26, 2014.
Fred is survived by his children, Mary Jane Vogel and her husband, Henry, of Lakewood, N.J., Maurice ‘Bud’ Greeno and his companion, Cheryl Gordon, of St. Albans, Robert Greeno of Swanton, Ronald Greeno and his wife, Vickie, of Swanton, Katrina Sharp and her husband, Jeffery, of Isle La Motte, nine grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
