ST. ALBANS — Frances Marion Sholan a lifelong resident of this area passed away early Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at the St. Albans Healthcare & Rehab Center, with her sister, brother-in-law and niece at her side. Born on May 3, 1931, in St. Albans, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Lillian (Furkey) Sholan. Frances was 84 years old. Frances was a 1949 graduate of Cathedral High School in Burlington and then had a lengthy career with New England Telephone. She was communicant of Holy Angels Parish. She is survived by her sister, Jeannette Sholan Raymo and her husband, Robert “Bob” Britch of St. Albans and several nieces and nephew. Frances was Godmother to Janice Bolio and Bernard Raymo. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her sisters, Nelda Gamache, Elizabeth Caron and Rita Cheney. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Dec. 23rd at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Church, 245 Lake Street with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy as celebrant. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. in Resurrection Park in South Burlington. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider masses in her memory.
