ST. ALBANS — Mrs. Florence L. “Snookie” Ryea, age 81, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013 in the Franklin County Rehab Center.  She was born in St. Albans, daughter of the late Roy and Lillian (Paquette) Trombley.  Snookie was a waitress at the Corner Stone Restaurant, a bartender at the American Legion, and was a caregiver for many people in their homes.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary Unit #1, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Unit #758.  She loved having family together and having a good time.  She was a bingo player, and enjoyed having fun!

Snookie is survived by her sons Terrance Giroux and his wife, Debbie, of Chandler, Ariz., Michael Giroux and his wife, Marie, of North Hero, and Jeffrey Ryea and his wife, Vicki, of St. Albans, her grandchildren, Mechelle and Onur Carasoy-giroux, Brent and Kelsey Petterborg, Jacob Giroux, Allison Giroux, Connor Ryea and Isaac Ryea, and dear friends Bea Cheeney, Isabelle Cross, and Beverly Bartlett.  She was predeceased by her parents, sons David and Allen, her brothers Ryamond and Herman Trombley, and her sister Shirley Toof.
