GEORGIA — Florence Carmen Bechard a lifelong area resident passed away early Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at The Residence at Shelburne Bay.
Born in Highgate on May 29, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Napoleon and Berthe (Viens) Cadieux. Florence was 90 years old.
On October 23, 1945, in Holy Angels Church, she married Jean Paul “Johnny” Bechard, who preceded her in death on December 21, 2010. They were married for 65 years and in that time they raised their family and operated a farm in Georgia.
Survivors include her daughters, Jeanne, Jeannette, Deanne, Bernadette and Carmen; sons, Maurice and Michel, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Her siblings, Roger, Marcel, Richard, Angela, Solange, Simonne, Lucille and many nieces and nephews, also survive Florence
In addition to her parents and husband, Jean Paul, her siblings, Clement, Leon, Andrew, Rejeanne, Alice and Berthe, preceded her in death.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, July 1st, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main St., St. Albans.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 2 at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Angels Catholic Church, 245 Lake Street, St. Albans with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy as celebrant. Interment will follow in the family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
