ISLE LA MOTTE — Everett Henry Champagne, age 64 years, a lifelong resident of Highgate and Swanton and more recently of School Street in Isle La Motte, died Friday Jan. 24, 2014, with loving family at his side. He celebrated his last day of life, by giving away in marriage his daughter Chelsea in the hospital at the Northwestern Medical Center.

Born in St. Albans on April 2, 1949, he was the son of the late Henry and Mabel (Bockus) Champagne. He attended Highgate schools and in 1974 was married to the former Lynne Hudson who survives him.

For many years Everett had been employed as a driver for the Swanton Lumber Company. His many interests included fishing, boating, hunting, playing cards with friends, wood working, and working on cars.

In addition to his wife, Lynne, of 40 years, he leaves his daughter, Chelsea Champagne and her husband, Josh Vanslette, of Swanton; a granddaughter, Mila Vanslette, Chelsea’s sister, Lacey Wimble of Swanton; good friends, Tom Farrell and Lori Harris; nieces, Mindy Champagne and Rose Wilder as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends.

In addition to his parents, Everett was predeceased by a brother, David Champagne and a sister, Cindy Champagne.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at 11 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton. The Reverend Anne Torrance Bachmann will officiate. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

There will be no public calling hours.
