ST. ALBANS — Mrs. Esther M. Fregeau, age 102, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at the Holiday House Nursing Facility. Esther was born in St. Albans on Jan. 22, 1913, daughter of the late Carroll and Emma (LaFlame) Goldsbury. She was a home maker and a member of the Franklin County Senior Citizens. She was a communicant of Holy Angels Church. Esther was first married to Roland Bombardier in 1933. Roland passed away in 1967. In 1974 she married Bernard Fregeau, who passed away in 1980.
Her survivors include her daughters, Shirley Richard and her husband Donald, Eleanor Bean and her husband John, , her son Howard Bombardier and his wife Leonne of Rutland, her sister Irene Bouchard and her husband Paul, Bernard’s daughter, Jacqueline Desrochers and her husband, Maurice, 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides both of her husbands, Esther was predeceased by her granddaughters Courtney Richard, Alison Lamphier, her great-granddaughter Emily Bombardier, her sisters Sister Margaret Goldsbury, Evelyn Bissonnette, Ruth Mulvey and her brother William Goldsbury, Esq. and also, by Bernard’s two sons Robert Fregeau and Lawrence Fregeau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Aug. 7, at 11 a.m. in Holy Angels Church with Father Maurice Roy celebrating. Interment will follow in the Bombardier family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. At Esther’s request there will be no visitation hours.
