ST. ALBANS/ENOSBURG FALLS — Ellen Ruth Armstrong, 73, of St. Albans, formerly of Enosburg Falls, died peacefully on Feb. 11, 2014 at the St. Albans Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born June 4, 1940 in N. Berkshire, the daughter of the late Rolllin and Ruth (Chambers) Armstrong. She attended public schools in Berkshire.
Ellen was a domestic all of her working years. She was employed in several locations including: Berkshire, Hadley, Mass., Miami, Fla., Grand Isle, Colchester and Hardwick. She retired in 1984 due to failing health. She was a member of the Puffer Methodist Church in Morrisville. She enjoyed handwork.
Survivors include two brothers: Donald Armstrong and his wife, Sandra of St. Albans, her twin brother, Edward Armstrong and his wife, Mary of Hadley, Mass.; five nieces: Anna-Marie Kane of Enosburg, Valentina and husband, David Gladu of St. Albans, Kimberly and husband, David Paquette, of Bedford, Quebec, Betsy Armstrong of Hadley, Mass. and Susan Armstrong; a nephew: Michael Armstrong of Amherst, Mass.; very special great nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at the Church of the Rock in St. Albans, with the Pastor Roland Ludlam officiating. Spring burial will be in the family lot in the Berkshire Center Cemetery.
