GEORGIA — Elisa Angela (Cioe) Chiappinelli was born Aug. 7, 1929, in Barrington, R.I. She was a farm girl and a school baseball player until she met the love of her life, Emanuele Quirino Chiappinelli, Sr. They were married for 59 years before he passed away in 2007.

She was always an outdoor girl who walked six to eight miles a day until the age of 79; had the most beautiful flower gardens and the most productive vegetable patch. She was the best cook on the planet as anyone who has been lucky enough to taste her cooking will vouch for.  Hospitality was in her nature and she loved to cook for family, neighbors, parties, the Swanton Teen Center, and the Sugarhouse Crew.  Her specialties were Italian sausage pie and Italian cookies.

Motherhood was her profession. She was at her best caring for her three children, six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.  She was a very loving, caring, and warm person.  After her family was grown she put these same qualities to work at the Rhode Island Hospital where she worked caring and transporting patients for over 30 years.

She enjoyed traveling and camped across the entire country with family on three separate trips. She was excited about life and seeing new things. She had a unique sense of humor, the most wonderful facial expressions, the bluest eyes, and she was sassy! Vermont was lucky enough to have her the last six years of her life.

On July 16 she passed over death and entered Heaven to be united again with her true love. She will be sorely missed by those of us still here.

Elisa is survived by her children Emanuele (and Mary), Lisa (and David), and Dino. Grandchildren Melisa Sepe, Gina (Scott) Romesburg, Ben (Julie) Chiappinelli, Stacy (Joe) Strouse, Sarah Chiappinelli, and Ruth Chiappinelli; great-grandchildren Manny, Suzy, Olivia, Ava, Mary, Irene, and Teo; Her sister, Anna Flanagan; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Barbara Jiacovelli, Carmella Cote, Mary DeAngelis, Albert, John, Sorzio, Anthony, Joseph, Louis and Peter Cioe.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Ascension Church, 3157 Ethan Allen Highway, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Swanton Teen Center, c/o Dr. Chip, 12 First Street, Swanton, VT 05488. Messages of condolence to the Chiappinelli family are welcome at
