ST. ALBANS/EAST FAIRFIELD — Dorothy B. “Dot” Bedard and lifelong area resident passed away, Thursday evening, June 24, 2015, at the North Country Hospital in Newport.

Born in Sheldon Springs on Aug. 4, 1928, she was the daughter of the late William and Blanche (Frazier) Bedard. Dot was 86 years old.

Dot graduated from Brigham Academy in Bakersfield. For many years she helped with her father’s business, “Bill’s Doughnuts” and continued baking after his death in 1987. She was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony’s Parish in East Fairfield, where she was organist for over 63 years and a member of the Ladies of St. Anthony.

Dot is survived by several cousins, including, Margo Daigle of Montreal Quebec, Suzy St. Cyr and Pierre St. Cyr of Granby Quebec, , Kathy Roehmholdt of Cheektowaga, New York and Luc Forget of Sherbrook, Quebec as well as a her dear, close friend, Father Daniel Lokanga of Bradford, Vt., for whom she was like a mother.    Dorothy also had a wonderful circle of friends who extended great kindness to her over the years.  Special thanks to Bridget Mount, Joyce and Al Jenkins, Mile and Linda Pfau, Ted and Mary Yandow, Denise Sheridan and Nancy Nanor.  Also sincere thanks and appreciation to the nurses and staff at Ave Maria Home in Richford and Maple Lane Nursing Home in Barton for their compassionate care.  Dorothy was predeceased by her mother, Blanche in 1985 and her father, William in 1987.

Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, July 17, 2015, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, Lake Street, St. Albans with a luncheon immediately following.  Interment will be 1 p.m. in the family lot in St. George’s Catholic Cemetery in Bakersfield.

In lieu of flowers, Dorothy asked that memorial’s be made to St. Anthony-St. George Roman Catholic Church, P.O. Box 18, Fairfield, VT.   Messages of condolence are welcome at
