FAIRFIELD — For Gene Branon, there just had to be a way to save the millions of gallons of water going down the drain during the maple sugaring process

Branon has been a maple-sugaring name in Vermont for seven generations now. At Branon’s West View Maples in Fairfield, 38-year-old Gene Branon is combining the certified organic farm’s “generations of tradition” with something new: TrēTap and Vermont Tapped drinks.
