SWANTON — A great defensive effort from Champlain Valley led to a 44-23 boys basketball win over Missisquoi Valley on Monday night.

CVU displayed constant fullcourt pressure, and its ability to force turnovers was the key to its success. Coming out strong, the Redhawks overcame the Thunderbirds offensively and defensively, and after one quarter had built a 12-6 lead.
