ST. ALBANS — Craig W. Casperson, a lifelong area resident passed away Monday evening, July 22, 2013, at the Northwestern Medical Center with his loving family at his side.

Born on Oct. 4, 1943, in St. Albans, he was the son of the late Ernst and Rosetta (Littlefield) Casperson. Craig was 69 years old.

He was a graduate of the former Swanton High School and then served in the United States Air Force and then with the Vermont National Guard. Craig spent most of his working career as a truck driver. He owned and operated the C.W. Casperson Daughters and Son Trucking Company and in later years drove for R.L. Vallee, Inc. Craig had a zest for life. His first loves were his family and friends, and he was passionate about his Harley Davison, sailing and drag racing.

Survivors include his wife, Lynn Fitzgerald of St. Albans; his son, Ian Casperson (MacKenzie and Surrelle) of Swanton; his three daughters Alayne Bruno and husband, Michael, (Austin and Johnny) of Castleton; Tiffanie Towle and husband, Jeff, (Sada and Jesse) of Highgate Springs and Brye Trainer and husband, David, (Jason, Britini, Caitlyn, Emma and Gracie) of St. Albans; his great grandchildren Kaydence and Abigail. Craig also leaves behind his children’s mother, Gail Casperson-Lapine.

Craig is also survived by his brother, Carl “Chip” Casperson and wife, Linda, of Florida; niece, Erin, and nephew, Christopher; his in-laws, James and Esther Fitzgerald, sister-in-law, Kelly Gosselin and nieces Chelsea and Molly as well as many close friends and his canine companion, Jenny Rose. In addition to his parents, Craig was preceded in death by a brother, Chris Casperson.
