ST. ALBANS – Charles Drinkwater, 91, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 29, 2018.
Charles, son of Raymond and Hazel Drinkwater was born in Newton, Mass. on Oct. 5, 1926. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. He was a graduate of Waltham Watchmaking School. On June 29, 1946 Chuck married Joyce Marion Hillman also of Newton, Mass. Chuck and Joyce moved to St. Albans in 1948. Chuck opened Drinkwater’s Jewelry Store in 1950, working as a watchmaker, jeweler, and a gemologist until his retirement in 1985. He was active in many community organizations including the Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club. Chuck is the founder of Church of the Rock and was very involved in sharing God’s love with everyone.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Joyce on July 21, 2010. He is survived by his daughter Diane Drinkwater, his daughter Sharon and son-in-law Louis Brgant, his son Daniel and daughter-in-law Shirley, his son Dale and daughter-in-law Linda. Grandchildren: Nicholas, Sarah Edgerly, Ashley, Jaison, Joseph. Great Grandchildren: Hadley and Brody Edgerly.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Church of the Rock in St. Albans.
