ST. ALBANS — The oft-robbed South Main Grocery on Main Street in St. Albans was burglarized this morning.

According to St. Albans Police Dept. (SAPD) Lt. Judy Dunn, an alarm sounded at the dispatch office at approximately 3 a.m. from the store. Officers were dispatched to the scene where they found the front door window broken.

Cigarettes and other merchandise had been taken from the store.

Video footage revealed that the burglar is a white man in his early 20s. He was wearing a tan jacket, a baseball cap, dark pants and shoes.

The burglary is still under investigation.

The business has been the site of numerous robberies over the years, the last was on Dec. 9 of last year.
