BURLINGTON — The World Weekly News wasn’t exactly known for its fact-based, true-to-reality stories during its print publication years 1979-2007. But through Bellows Free Academy-St. Albans 2014 graduate Nathaniel Miller, the tabloid’s famous recurring character Bat Boy will come to life this weekend.

Miller, 19, is playing the half-human, half-bat in Bat Boy: The Musical, an off-Broadway production created with inspiration (and permission) from the Weekly News. With his fellow FlynnArts Summer Youth Theater program cast members, Miller will perform in six shows at the FlynnSpace in Burlington this coming Thursday through Sunday.

Miller spoke with the Messenger during rehearsals on Tuesday and said the show has required him to call on deep emotions and also has taken a physical toll.
