WATERVILLE, MAINE —Bessie L Bourdeau, 99 of West River Road, passed away peacefully on Sunday May 25, 2014 at The Woodlands Senior Living Center embraced by her loving family as she started her journey home.

She was born on Dec. 23 1914 In Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Gracie (Baxter) Denton.

Bessie worked at the Town Hall in South Hadley, Mass., for a number of years. Prior to that she was a full time Mom and did great job at that.

She enjoyed bowling, bingo, crossword puzzles, cards, dominos, the Red Sox, and above all else spending time with her family. In her younger years she was ranked as one of the top 10 spellers in the state of Kansas.

She was predeceased by her parents and her stepmother Anna Denton; husband, Emile, sister Rosalyn Moses and her twin sister Jessie Denton.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Edward and Blanche Bourdeau of South China, Maine, step daughters Eleanor Maynard and Beverly Cullen of St Albans, and their families, granddaughter Carrie Kauser, her husband, Andrew Kauser, and great granddaughter Hadley Kauser of Barrington, Ill., grandson Bill Hupfer, and great grandson William Hupfer of Burlington, Vt., niece Maggie Maier and her husband, Karl, of St Petersburg Florida, and nephew Robert Gruver and his family also of Florida.

A memorial service will take place on June 7 at St Paul’s United Methodist Church in St Albans, Vt., and a graveside service in South Hadley, Mass., at a future date.
