ST. ALBANS – Elizabeth K. “Libby” Whiting passed away Sunday evening, April 15th, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Northfield, Vt. on March 29, 1926 to George and Ellen (Lackey) Kingston. After graduating from Northfield High School, Libby went on to graduate from The Fay School of Boston, earning her secretarial degree. Libby married W.W. “Red” Whiting on Jan. 5, 1952 in Northfield, Vt., and together they raised their daughter Mary. Aiosa-Perrin attended Fletcher Elementary for kindergarten through sixth grade. ST. ALBANS — Three fields at the Collins Perley Sports & Fitness Center (CPSFC) are in need of an upgrade, according to the facility’s manager, Dave Kimel. Built in 1985, CPSFC provides athletic fields for the teams of the Maple Run Unified School District (MRUSD) and several local sports leagues as well as fitness and athletic opportunities for residents. Richard and Sandra Thompson celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on April 13.  They were married at the Richford First Baptist Church in Richford, Vt. They have made their home in Swanton and both retired from IBM.  Additionally, Richard also served as Town Administrator at the Town of Swanton, retiring in 2012.
