HIGHGATE SPRINGS – Amy Butler Bruce, age 35 years, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning Aug. 11, 2013, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts, following a short but valiant struggle with Auto Immune Hepatitis.
Born in St. Albans on June 19, 1978, she was the “beloved” daughter of Steven and Kathy (Burns) Butler and was a 1996 graduate of Missisquoi Valley Union High School. For the past 10 years Amy has been associated in inventory control at the St. Albans Cooperative Creamery.
Amy enjoyed interior decorating, camping, Zumba and especially shopping. However spending time with her family including nightly phone calls with her mother, Sunday dinner and working at the sugarhouse were the most important things in her life.
In addition to her parents, Kathy and Steve of West Swanton, Amy leaves two beautiful daughters, Brooklyn Bruce and Bailey Popple and her fiancé, Cory Popple all of Highgate Springs; her brother, Jason Butler and his wife Carrie and two very special nephews, Jaden and Grady Butler all of Franklin; maternal grandmother, Shirley Burns of St. Albans; paternal grandmothers, Beverly Beyor and Shirley Butler both of St. Albans as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Lewis Burns and paternal grandfathers, Francis Butler and Carlton Beyor.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday Aug. 17, 2013, at 11 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. The Reverend Anne Torrance Bachmann will officiate. Interment will follow at the Butler family lot in Riverside Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Gift’s in Amy’s memory may be made to a trust that is being established for her two daughters, in care of, Kathy Butler, 93 Lakewood Dr., Swanton 05488.
