COLCHESTER — Alton “Pete” Robistow, 92, died peacefully early Monday morning, Nov. 2, 2015 at the Green Mountain Nursing Home in Colchester.

He was formerly a resident of the Pines Senior Living Community.

Pete was born in Highgate on Aug. 22, 1923, the son of Sulpene and Florence ( Brown ) Robistow.

He married Elizabeth “Betty” Leach on Sept. 5, 1945, Betty predeceased him in 1986. He was also predeceased by his daughter Diane. Pete and Betty raised their family who survive him, Stephen Robistow and wife Gayle of Montgomery, TX; Kathleen Robistow of Alburgh; Jane Andracchio and husband Vincent of Livermore, Calif.; David Robistow and wife Laurie of Fletcher and James Robistow and wife Susan of South Hero; his grandchildren Chris, Elizabeth, Michael, Kareem, Erica, Amy and Maggie and many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pete later married Phyllis Bird on July 1, 1989. Phyllis predeceased him in 2011. He is also survived by her children Margaret Bicknell of Richford; Charlie Bird and wife Janet of Sammamish, Washington; Nancy Pecor and husband Jerry of Milton; David Bird of Carmel, Ind.; and Peter Bird and wife Patricia of Hillsboro, Ore.

Pete was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict and had worked at General Electric in Burlington for over 30 years.

A special thanks is extended to the VNA for the excellent care given to Pete.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. in St. John Vianney Catholic Church in So. Burlington.

Burial will follow in the Resurrection Park Cemetery in So. Burlington.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Minor Funeral and Cremation Center in Milton.
