ESSEX — Everyone’s friend, Albert “Al” Garner, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 at the Starr Farm Nursing Center in Burlington.

Al was born in 1931 in Detroit, Mich., the son of Jack and Myrtle  (Allen) Garner.  Al served in the U.S. Air Force, 764th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron, at the St. Albans Air Force Station during the Korean Conflict.  In 1955, he married Ruth Perry in St. Albans.  Al and Ruth lived in Milton for over 40 years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. in St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Milton.

Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Minor Funeral and Cremation Center in Milton.
