A bit of St. Albans history came crashing down during a thunderstorm Tuesday night. One of the age-ravaged maples at the Warner Home fell blocking High Street. The tree, as can be seen here, has slowly been losing ground for decades. The remaining maples, standing in a row in front of the condominium complex and former disadvantaged children’s home and orphanage, are also nearing their demise.
