Students at Northwest Technical Center got a look at one fast, expensive, and popular car this morning. The Dale Earnhardt Jr. NASCAR car No. 88, which has a partnership with the National Guard, was on display today for the Automotive Technology class and other students at NWTC.
With help from Vermont National Guard recruiter Bo Mader, the car made a stop in St. Albans along its tour throughout the state this week. According to Mader and those at NWTC, bringing NASCAR to school grounds is just one way to show students their future possibilities, whether they lie in college, work, or, yes, race cars. For No. 88 alone, many hours of engineering, building, marketing and design go into the car said spokesperson Art Slipe.
“We’re all about pathways to your future career,” said NWTC outreach coordinator Agnieszka Gagne.
