ENOSBURG FALLS — Helen F. Spears, age 93, passed away at her home on Monday evening Sept. 28, 2015. She was born Aug. 6, 1922 in Rutland the daughter of the late Earl & Ruth (Porter) Flanders. Helen was a graduate of Rutland High School and married William E. Spears on Dec. 15, 1943. WILLISTON — Delford “Bud” Janes, 95, died peacefully on Tuesday morning, Sept. 29, 2015 at the Green Mountain Nursing Home in Colchester. Bud was born on Aug. 27, 1920, in Richford, the son of Delwin and Laura ( Perrault ) Janes. She was born in Alburg Springs on Feb. 8, 1934, the daughter of the late Elphege and Cecile (Chevalier) Therrien. ATV rams car on Route 7

ST. ALBANS — A Swanton man has been cited for negligent operation of a motor vehicle after crashing an all-terrain-vehicle (ATV) into a car exiting Burger King last night. St. Albans Police Department responded to the Route 7-North crash at 9:51 p.m.. Following an investigation, police determined the ATV was driven by Robert Kneebone, 22, and that he had ridden on Interstate 89 southbound from Swanton just prior to the collision.
