Doe, age 81, a much loved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son and brother passed away peacefully on Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans with his loving family by his side. He was born Sept. 26, 1932 in Sheldon, Vt., the son of the late Aubrey C. and Yvonne (Roberts) Doe. Norman was a 1950 graduate of Richford High School. ALBANS — Franklin/Grand Isle United Way held its annual meeting at the St. Albans Historical Society and Museum on Wednesday, and while speakers acknowledged the tough nature of this past year economically, socially, and seasonally for the two counties, they also cited those issues as the reason to give back. ST. ALBANS — Thomas E. Regan, a lifelong resident of this area passed away peacefully Monday, April 28, 2014, at the Holiday House Residential Care Home with his family at his side. Born in St. Albans on Oct. 1, 1941, he was the son of the late Walter J. and Caroline (Spear Van Buskirk) Regan. HIGHGATE SPRINGS — Mrs. Arlene Morse Derosia, age 80, died on April 27, 2014 after a long battle with Alzheimer disease and most recently, cancer. Arlene was born to Ferd and Dora Morse of Duxbury, Vt., on April 10, 1934. She married Roger Derosia on Oct. 20, 1951. Roger predeceased her in 2006. Arlene is survived by her children: Susan Forant and husband, Patrick, Jean Chevalier and husband, Michael, Larry Derosia, Harold Derosia and wife, Martha, Arthur Derosia, Mary Derosia and Brian Derosia. FEMA aid requested for flooding

MONTPELIER — Franklin County was one of three counties Gov. Peter Shumlin and Vermont Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security Director Joe Flynn asked to be added on Monday to the state’s Federal Emergency Management Agency damage assessment request. Orleans and Washington counties were the other two counties Shumlin and Flynn requested added. According to the governor’s office, seven counties in Vermont are included in the FEMA request for flooding damage assessment to see whether the state qualifies for federal Public Assistance disaster funds.
